Terms of Use
Compound is a subscription app, sold through Apple's App Store. Apple takes your payment, holds your receipt, and handles your cancellations and refunds. You have no account with us, we run no servers, and we have nothing to close down if you stop paying — your training history stays on your phone either way.
Licence
What you are agreeing to
We licence Compound to you, we don't sell it, under Apple's Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement — the standard EULA that applies to apps on the App Store. That document is your licence. This page states our commercial terms alongside it in plain language; where the two ever disagree, the standard EULA governs.
Subscription
Price and term
Compound Standard is $4.99 per month or $29.99 per year — the same subscription, billed at two different cadences, with everything we make included either way. The annual term works out to about $2.50 a month. We set prices per storefront, so the App Store may show you a different local amount; the price you see on the purchase screen is the price you pay.
Free trial
Your first 14 days are free. Your trial is the whole app, not a limited version. Cancel any time before it ends and we charge you nothing. We offer the trial once per Apple Account: if you have already used yours on one term, switching to the other does not start a second one, and we say so on screen rather than implying otherwise.
Renewal
Apple charges your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. Your subscription renews automatically at the same price unless you switch off auto-renew at least 24 hours before your current period ends. Apple charges your account for renewal within 24 hours of the end of the period.
Changing or cancelling
Manage everything — switch between monthly and annual, turn off auto-renew, or cancel — in Settings › Apple Account › Subscriptions on your device, or from Settings › Subscription inside Compound, which opens the same screen. Cancelling stops your next charge; your access runs to the end of the period you have already paid for. Apple prorates a switch between terms, and your access never lapses in between.
Refunds
Refunds are Apple's to give, not ours. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
If you stop subscribing
Compound stops letting you in, and nothing else happens. Your history, your weights, and your settings stay on your phone exactly as they were, and subscribing again picks up where you left off. We never had a copy to delete.
Using Compound
This is not medical advice
We are a training plan and a stopwatch, not a coach and not a clinician. Lifting weights carries risk. Warm up, use weights you can control, stop if something hurts, and talk to a doctor before you start if you have any reason to. You train at your own risk.
Your data
Nothing leaves your device. Our privacy policy is the whole story, and it is short.
Changes to these terms
If we change them, the date at the top changes with them, and we put anything affecting what you pay in front of you inside Compound before it takes effect — never applied quietly to a subscription you already have.
