Common questions
Where does my data live?
On your iPhone. You have no account with us, and there's no cloud. Your history, progression, and settings are files in our private storage on your device. Backing up your phone backs them up too; deleting Compound deletes them. The details are in our privacy policy.
What is the Apple Health permission for?
Two things: we save your completed workouts to Health, and we show your live heart rate and calories during a session when you wear the watch. It's optional — turn us down and everything else still works. You can change your mind any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Compound.
Why does my Lock Screen keep asking to allow Live Activities?
That's iOS asking, not us, and it asks twice. The first workout you take to the Lock Screen shows the rest timer with Allow or Don't Allow; the next one asks whether to continue allowing, with Always Allow. Tap Always Allow and it never asks again. If you unlock past a prompt without answering, iOS simply asks again on the next workout. You can change your mind any time in Settings → Compound → Live Activities.
Where is my watch app?
We install on your watch alongside the iPhone app. If we're not there, open the Watch app on your phone, scroll to Available Apps, and install Compound from there. Your watch mirrors your phone during a session, so it leans on the phone to do the thinking.
What does this cost?
$4.99 a month or $29.99 a year, after your 14-day free trial. Your trial is the whole app — we hold nothing back, and there's no limited free tier. Cancel before day 14 and we charge you nothing.
How do I manage or refund a purchase?
Apple bills your subscription, so you manage it in your device's App Store settings (App Store → your profile → Subscriptions). Refunds are Apple's to give, directly at reportaproblem.apple.com.
