Privacy Policy
We do not collect, use, sell, or share your personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no trackers, no third-party SDKs, and no servers of ours. Everything we know about you lives on your own devices, where we cannot see it.
Your training data
We store your workout history, progression numbers, exercise choices, and settings as files on your iPhone, inside our private storage there. They leave your device in exactly three ways, all under your control:
- Your own device backups (iCloud or a computer), which are managed and encrypted by Apple under Apple's privacy policy.
- Live syncing to your own paired Apple Watch, described below.
- An export you run yourself (Settings → Export Data — also offered on the subscription screen), which writes your history as one JSON file to wherever you point it: the Files app, iCloud Drive, AirDrop. That copy is yours, outside the app, and where it goes from there is up to you. We never see it; there is no import back.
Deleting Compound deletes your data. We keep no copy.
Apple Watch
During your workout, we send the state of your session from your iPhone to your paired Apple Watch, and your watch sends your taps back. We do that over Apple's device-to-device Watch Connectivity link between your two devices. It never passes through a server of ours; we have none.
Apple Health
Health access is optional, and we ask for it through the standard iOS permission screen. If you grant it, we:
- Save your completed workouts to Apple Health: activity type, start and end time, and (when your watch runs your session) the heart rate and active energy it measures.
- Read your heart rate and active energy during a live workout, solely to show you those numbers on screen.
Your health data stays inside Apple Health on your devices. We never transmit it anywhere, never use it for anything besides the workout in front of you, and never share it with anyone. You can revoke our access at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Compound, and we keep working without it.
Notifications
Your notifications are optional and local: we schedule them on your device (for example, when your rest timer ends while we're in the background), and they never come from a server. We have no push-notification infrastructure and no device token.
Purchases
You buy your subscription through Apple's App Store, and Apple processes it end to end. We never see your name, address, or payment details. Your Apple account and Apple's privacy policy govern the billing, and you manage your subscription in your device's App Store settings.
Children
We collect no data from anyone, children included.
Changes & contact
If a future version of Compound ever changes any of the above, we'll say so plainly on this page, with a new effective date, before that version ships.
